We eat at Cracker Barrel at least once a week. Always has great food. Employees are always friendly and helpful.
The five star rating is for the rustic atmosphere, stone fireplace, gift shop and good food. My only complaint is that it is very loud and hard to hear. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to work on the acoustics by adding a few hanging quilts from the ceiling in places that don't hinder traffic. It's amazing how much background noise is eliminated by adding fabric of any kind.
Amazing place and amazing food. Just don't go around Thanksgiving as I just found out. Packed beyond comprehension! Over an hour wait for a table.
My husband loves Cracker Barrel and it is often our choice when traveling. I am not so enamored, but I'm happy that he's happy. The food is very much comfort food and it is very good. My husband has been doing glutton free for whatever reason, and it is possible to have a glutton free meal, though they have yet to get on the bandwagon had have a GF menu. My problem with CB is the noise level. It's loud. We ask for window seating and that helps. The service is very good considering the crowds that are attracted to CB. The country store in the front of the restaurant is great fun. It's worthwhile to at least once take the time to wander through the store. Looking for good old American food. Eat at Cracker Barrel.
You can get a vegetable meal, but ask, because the veggies are cooked southern- style, some with meat. The baked potato is always good. We like this place because it is consistent location to location and the store is great to browse in after a long drive. The food is good, consistent southern fare.
