They allow hikers of the Appalachian Trail to stay for up to 2 nights, which is awesome. When I hiked through, I got a shower across the street at the fire dept(thanks guys!).
A Troutville city park with a neighborhood park feel. Allows one night of camping for hikers from the Appalachian Trail. Picnic shelters with electrical outlets and tables. A small outdoor stage, courts for basketball, tennis and horseshoes. Also has clean public restrooms and a soda machine.
My kids love this park! It's eclectic, but so much room for the kids to run and play. A great old school playground. Lots of places for adults to sit and relax while kids play. It also has a walking trail around the park. The bathrooms are maintained and are always stocked with soap and t.p. . It's a family favorite.
I recently had my wedding reception here and it was wonderful. It's a great place for kids, renting the pavilions is easy, and the park is beautiful. When I was living right next door, I loved coming here to walk and mingle with the wildlife. I'm definitely biased since I came here so much as a kid, but I really love Troutville park.
The people I met here were polite and nice, and it was great walking around the track.
The park is clean and very nice. I enjoyed the walking track and there were lots of people enjoying the area. It's very nice that restrooms are available and they were clean.
Only downfall for hikers: trains going by in the middle of the night, as the tracks are right behind the park.
