I like short hikes, 8 Miles or so, and this hike is just as long as I prefer them. However, it is the most difficult one I've done in the area. Three quarters of this hike are a steep climb. It is not treacherous but very long. It is worth it when you get to the top because of the views. I would say it is a really good workout hike. I was able to do this in 3 hours in and out with 20 or 25 minutes for lunch. However, if you are a slow hiker it might take you up to 4.5 or 5 hours. Not recommended for children. My 50 pound black lab was able to do the entire hike no problem.

Hiked in from nearby campsite. Get up early. Constant up hill grade.

Great .5 mile stretch of stunning views! Hardly any people as it's harder to get to, but so worth it.

Great hike. Bit difficult but worth it!

Gorgeous views from top of the mountain. Difficult 8 miles hike from Andy Layne trail head.
